“We need people who can be innovative, who can think differently.”

Sir Ken Robinson

CREATIVITY AND CRITICAL THINKING HAVE BEEN FLAGGED AS ESSENTIAL 21st CENTURY SKILLS.

Congratulations to our very own Niki Annes, Senior AP Studio, for winning the 2009 Illinois Arts Education Week poster competition!

The Art program of Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School is designed to challenge young women to engage the imagination, foster flexible was of thinking (both creatively and critically), develop disciplined effort, build self-confidence and teach technical skills for personal expression.

This program will assist young women in developing a more thorough understanding and appreciation of art as a unique record of diverse cultures and artistic styles. It is the belief of the Art Department that preparation in the arts will be valuable in providing compassionate ways of understanding, appreciating and responding to human beings and nature.
